Tax season just got a little easier for those who receive social security disability benefits. In the past, if an SSA-1099 was lost, beneficiaries were required to call or visit the social security office in order to receive a replacement document.
It has been announced by the Acting Commissioner of Social Security, Carolyn W. Colvin, that the agency is expanding their online services to allow beneficiaries to retrieve a replacement SSA-1099 through their online account. Once inside their secure account, the beneficiary may view and print their replacement document or request that one be sent to them by mail. Other features include changes to your address and direct deposit information.
